You don't need to be fixed. You need a space where you can stop performing.
Many of the clients who reach out to me are deeply capable people. You are the one friends call in a crisis, the dependable team lead, the thoughtful partner, or the ambitious creative. But on the inside, you might feel like you're barely keeping your head above water—exhausted by relentless internal pressure, second-guessing your decisions, or grieving a version of life that no longer fits.
I founded Openly Counseling as a modern, compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed practice that aims to see the whole you. In my virtual holding space, there is no sterile clinical distance or cookie-cutter advice. I honor your whole complexity, your nervous system, and all the parts of you that deserve care and healing.
How I Work With You in Session
As a Master of Social Work, I look at your life through a biopsychosocial perspective. That means I don’t treat your anxiety or burnout as personal failings. I look at your family dynamics, learned survival mechanisms, workplace environments, and societal pressures—so you can let go of guilt that was never yours to hold.
Many clients come to me after spending years intellectualizing their pain in traditional talk therapy without feeling actual somatic relief. My clinical experience and training in Brainspotting allows us to go beyond surface conversations and gently work with the nervous system's innate capacity for processing.
Because Openly Counseling is 100% virtual, you can join sessions directly from the comfort of your living room, home office, or any private space across Missouri. With zero traffic, no commute, and complete confidentiality, you will be met with presence, curiosity, and steady warmth.
The therapeutic modalities guiding my clinical work
I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing, Somatic Experiencing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed practices, and Brainspotting.
Brainspotting
A neuro-experiential modality using focused eye positions to gently process trauma and emotional stress held in the subcortical brain.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
A mindfulness approach that helps you make room for difficult thoughts and emotions while taking grounded, values-guided action.
Somatic Experiencing
A body-centered method focused on tracking physical sensations, calming an overactive nervous system, and restoring felt safety.
Cognitive Processing
A structured framework for identifying stuck points around safety, trust, control, self-blame, and difficult life experiences.
Emotion-Focused Therapy
An experiential approach that treats emotions as meaningful messengers and supports deeper emotional resilience.
Trauma-Informed Practices
A collaborative, non-pathologizing framework prioritizing emotional safety, transparent consent, and client pacing.
